Anita Bunn: Blind Spot Open Sundays: Oct. 12, Nov. 9

Anita Bunn Whole, 2008 Ultrachrome print on panel 20" x 20"
Offramp Gallery's current exhibition, Anita Bunn: Blind Spot continues through November 16, 2008. We are pleased to announce that the gallery will be open to the public on Sunday, October 12 and Sunday, November 9, from 1-5pm. The artist will be in attendance both days.
If you can't make it to either Open Sunday, please call 626-298-6931 to schedule a visit.
In Blind Spot, Anita takes a seemingly simple construct of tree tops and sky, presented in a square format, and repeats it to great effect. There is at first a sense of beautiful calm in these eight photos. Variations on the theme -- blue sky becomes grey sky becomes ominous clouds -- give way to an underlying sense of mystery and intensity.

Offramp grows tomato larger than Statue of Liberty
Because Offramp Gallery is located in our home, we consider it more than an art gallery -- it's a lifestyle. We have fruit trees, an herb garden and have been trying our hand at growing tomatoes. Who knew a vacant lot by the freeway would produce such giants? It must be the smog. The tomato pictured at right weighed in at a whopping 1.6 pounds and was delicious. We made panini on whole grain bread, with a couple of thin slices of mozzarella, and a 1/2" slab of our prize tomato.
